Rated CFM is a ceiling, not a target. This canister is good to 1800 CFM. Pairing it with a fan that moves rather less gives the air more dwell time in the carbon, which is where the scrubbing happens. The 12 in flange is built in, so nothing bolts on.

Weight is the number people miss. The whole unit is 58 lbs, of which 43.2 lbs is carbon, and it measures 16 in across by 40 in long. That is a real load for a joist or a truss, and it wants planning before the ratchets go up. Inside, the bed is 2 in of 100% Australian granular activated carbon, held in the same packed bed design as the original Can-Filters. The lighter carbon grade is what the Lite name refers to. The casing is 51% perforated open area, which keeps the pressure drop low across that bed. Top and bottom plates are aluminium to save weight. A pre-filter comes with it, and changing that on schedule is what protects the carbon underneath. Service life runs up to about two and a half years.
