The Chikamasa B-500SLF pairs the L-shaped slanted blade with a fluorine coating, so the tip reaches tucked leaves while resin slides off the steel. These fluorine coated scissors are the detail tool of the B-500 line for sticky wet trims and precise final manicures.

Chikamasa B-500SLF Combines the Slant With a Sap-Resistant Coat

The B-500SLF pairs a slanted blade with a sap-resistant fluorine coat. The blade is slanted rather than curved, bent into what Chikamasa calls an L-shape, and that angle is what sets it apart. Seen from the side, the cutting line drops away from the handles so the tip reaches over and under without cocking the wrist. The blade itself is high-quality Japanese stainless, heat-treated and finished with a fluorine coating. That coating sheds resin and sap, so the blades keep opening cleanly between buds. Cutting length is 35 mm on a 155 mm frame, and the pair weighs about 42 g. As on every B-500 model, the outer faces are ground round so the spine brushes past finished flower without scarring it. The orange elastomer grip has a steel core inside, giving a soft feel with a rigid frame. A stainless rivet holds blade tension, and a cushioned stop softens each close. The pink B-500SLFP is the same tool in a different colour.

Fluorine Coated Scissors Built for Detail Work

Detail passes are where the slant pays off. Tucked sugar leaves, the crow's-feet at the base of a bud and the last cleanup before jars all sit at awkward angles. A slanted tip reaches them without rolling the hand over, which adds up across a long trim. The coating matters most on a wet trim, when fresh resin would otherwise glue bare blades shut within a few buds. It slows build-up rather than stopping it, so keep isopropyl and a rag nearby and wipe without scrubbing. Scouring pads and abrasive cleaners wear through the coating, which defeats the point. For stripping fan leaves in bulk, a straight blade still covers more ground per cut. There is no spring on this model, so your fingers open the blades each time. Trimmers who want a spring can look at the TP-500 line, which pairs a torsion spring with straight or curved blades. Keep it on leaf and small stems, because woody growth will chip the fine tip.

Key Features

  • L-Shape Slanted Blade: The angled tip reaches tucked leaves and overhead cuts without forcing the wrist into an awkward angle.
  • Fluorine Sap-Resistant Coating: Resin and sap slide off the coated stainless, so the blades keep opening cleanly through wet trims.
  • Rounded Outer Faces: The blade backs are ground round to brush past finished flower without scarring it.
  • Steel-Core Elastomer Grip: Soft orange elastomer over a steel core stays comfortable while keeping the frame rigid.
  • Cushioned Stop and Stainless Rivet: A soft stop absorbs closing shock, and a stainless rivet holds tension without rusting.
