CVault Large Curing Storage Container Seals Out Light and Air

Mason jars let light through and need burping; the CVault Large does neither. 18/10 food-grade stainless steel and a ¼" silicone gasket close the container completely, so what goes in keeps its color and its nose. Interior runs 4.75" across and 2.50" deep, which lands at roughly an ounce of dry plant material. Opacity is the part worth dwelling on. Light takes color and aroma out of stored material over a long hold, and glass on a shelf gives it a straight path in. Steel gives it none. The latch pulls the gasket down rather than just holding the lid on, which is the difference between closed and airtight.

An Airtight Stainless Steel Curing Jar That Runs Itself

A shelf under the lid holds the included 8 g 62% RH Boveda. Humidity then sits where you set it, with no hygrometer needed. Boveda holds ±2% of its labeled RH in a sealed container and wants swapping about every three months. The lid takes non-permanent marker, which is how most people run several of these side by side without losing track of what is in which. It is heavier than glass and you cannot see inside, and that opacity is the entire point. The 8 g pack is rated to an ounce, so on a full load it is matched rather than oversized. Run it half full and the pack simply lasts longer between swaps. Nothing about the container is consumed; only the pack is replaced. Replacement 8 g packs are stocked as singles and by the case, at a pack a quarter for curing.

Key Features

  • 18/10 Food-Grade Stainless Steel: Holds no odor and takes commercial handling without denting like thin-wall tins.
  • Completely Light-Tight Body: Blocks the UV that fades and degrades material sitting in clear glass.
  • ¼" Silicone Gasket Seal: Pulls flat under the latch so ambient air does not creep in between openings.
  • Lid-Mounted Boveda Holder: Keeps the pack off the contents and out of the way when scooping.
  • 0.70 L Capacity: Sized at about 1 oz of dry plant material, so the headspace matches the pack rated for it.
  • Writable Lid Surface: Non-permanent marker wipes off, so one container follows several batches.
  • Stackable Body: Vertical storage keeps a cure room organized without extra shelving.
  • Airtight Locking Latch: Seals aroma in rather than letting it bleed into the room over weeks.

What Size CVault Do I Need?

Large holds about an ounce. Small runs a quarter-ounce, medium three-quarters, XL about three ounces, and the liter sizes climb from six ounces to two pounds.

Do You Have to Burp a CVault Like a Mason Jar?

No. The Boveda pack in the lid moves moisture both directions, so the container self-corrects instead of needing a daily lid crack during cure.

How Long Does the Included Boveda Pack Last?

Two to four months in normal use, and Boveda suggests replacing on a three-month cycle. Opening the vault often shortens it.

Is a CVault Better Than a Glass Curing Jar?

For long holds, yes — glass lets UV through and degrades material over time. Steel blocks light completely, though you lose the ability to see contents.
