What the DAB JETCOM 132M Pump Does That a Submersible Cannot
A pump sitting in the reservoir can only push water out; this one pulls it in. The DAB JETCOM 132M pump is a self-priming centrifugal pump built around an internal ejector. That ejector is what lets it draw water from 26 ft (8 m) below the pump body. It clears air out of the suction line on its own. A tank that ran dry overnight does not become a hand-priming job in the morning. Once primed it moves 2.6 to 21 gpm against a head of 158 ft (48.3 m). Working pressure tops out at 87 psi (6 bar). The single-phase motor is rated 1 kW and 1.36 HP, drawing 14.7 A on 115V or 7.52 A on 230V. Suction and discharge are both 1 in NPT, and the unit weighs 23 lb (10.5 kg).
Plumbing a Self-Priming Irrigation Pump So It Primes on the First Try
Set it horizontally on a level pad above the reservoir rather than beside it at floor height. Every elbow and every spare foot of suction hose eats into the lift figure above. A pinhole leak on that side stops it priming entirely, while the discharge side looks fine. Seal those joints properly and keep the run short and straight. The wetted path is technopolymer end to end: body, impeller, diffuser and Venturi. A carbon/ceramic mechanical seal carries the shaft. Nutrient solution will not pit any of it the way it eventually pits a cast-iron wet end. It wants clean water only. Perlite fines or an unscreened pond draw will grind that seal down, so fit a strainer at the inlet. One limit to plan around: there is no pressure switch in this version. It runs whenever it has power, which suits a timer or a fertigation controller. That rules it out if you wanted on-demand cycling behind a pressure tank.
Key Features
- Internal Ejector: Primes itself from 26 ft (8 m) down, so a drained reservoir does not mean priming the line by hand.
- 115V/230V Dual Voltage: Wires to either supply, which keeps the pump usable when a room gets re-fed at a different service voltage.
- 1 in NPT Suction and Discharge: Standard threads mate to common poly and PVC fittings without adapters on either side.
- Technopolymer Hydraulics: Body, impeller, diffuser and Venturi shrug off nutrient-laden water that pits cast-iron wet ends over a season.
- Carbon/Ceramic Mechanical Seal: Takes continuous duty on clean water without the weeping that softer seal faces develop.
- IP 44 Motor, IP 55 Terminal Board: Class F insulation and sealed terminals suit damp pump corners and greenhouse headhouses.
