Dosatron Lil Bud-D DosaCart for Spot Treatments
Plenty of treatments only touch a few benches, and a portable doser handles them without the main fertigation line. This cart, part HS15-5, carries a Dosatron injector and a 5 gallon bucket of concentrate. Dosatron now lists it as the DosaCart FLEX. The body is polyethylene, so fertilizers, fungicides and sanitizers rinse off without corroding anything. It rolls on 10 inch no-flat tires and keeps a narrow width for tight aisles. The box holds the cart, the bucket, a lid and the hardware to fit an injector bracket. The cart takes the 11 GPM and 14 GPM Dosatron fertilizer injectors. Water from a garden hose drives the injector, which pulls concentrate from the bucket in proportion to the flow. The mix stays steady with the wand wide open or barely cracked. Dosatron rates it for fertilizers, fungicides, pesticides, algicides, disinfectants and surfactants. The injector and the HSPK58LB hook-up kit are sold separately.
Running a Mobile Spray Cart Through the Greenhouse
Mount the bracket that came with your Dosatron onto the cart using the supplied hardware. Plumb the hook-up kit to the injector, then seat the unit on the bracket and secure it with the strap. Zip-tie the hoses to the eye hooks, so nothing drags on the floor. Feed the suction hose through the hole in the bucket lid, attach it to the injector barb and tighten the hose nut. Go easy on the fittings, because the blue injector housing should never be forced. Connect a hose from the bib to the inlet and a wand to the outlet, then set the dial. The small bucket suits spot work, such as a fungicide on one bench or a cleaner for a single room. Whole-house feeding or long spray runs mean frequent refills from a bucket this size. Rinse the injector with clean water after every chemical change. A hand-watering crew can push it between rows without dragging a drum around.
