What the DLI CRI-Series UV 150W Actually Adds

This fixture does one job: it puts ultraviolet into a grow room that already has its main lights. Dutch Lighting Innovations builds it around a double-ended lamp and rates the system at 150W. Output is listed at 160 µmol/s, or 1.1 µmol/J, which is low on purpose for a supplemental UV source. Input runs 208–347V, so it wires into commercial circuits alongside DE HPS or high-voltage LED. The reflector spreads light across a 140° beam angle for wide, even UV coverage. The housing measures 43 x 29 x 18 cm and weighs 4.8 kg, light enough for standard rack spacing. It carries CE, CSA, UL 1598 and FCC part 18 certifications. DLI covers the fixture for 3 years, with the lamp and reflector excluded from that warranty. Replacement lamps are DLI's Solar Noon UV tubes, sold on their own. The unit is designed and built in the Netherlands.

Adding UV Supplemental Lighting to an Existing Room

UV supplemental lighting works best as a short daily dose rather than a second main light. DLI recommends running it at least two to four hours a day, inside the normal light period. Most rooms center that window around midday, so UV lands when the canopy is fully active. The maker ties UV exposure to thicker leaves and cell walls, plus higher terpene content. Growers mostly see it as extra resilience against mildew and soft-bodied pests, not as a yield booster. Start with the short end of the range and watch the top leaves for bronzing or curling. UV is harmful to eyes and skin, so switch it off or wear rated protection before working the room. One fixture covers a single table well, and larger rooms space several evenly between the main lights. Because it is a lamp-based fixture, plan for tube replacement as a routine running cost. Tents on standard household power need a UV LED bar instead, since this unit needs high-voltage service.
