Monosilicic Acid at 4.1% in a Stable Liquid
Silicon products differ mostly in what form the silicon is in. Most run potassium silicate, which is high pH and needs care in a reservoir. Elite 91 run silicic acid instead, at 4.1% with 1.2% plant available silicon. Twenty one organic L-amino acids come along with it, plus zinc, boron, molybdenum and manganese. Guaranteed analysis on the label is 0-2-1. Root rates are low: 0.5 to 1 mL per gallon standard, or 3 mL per five gallons. Seedlings and cuttings drop to 0.25 mL per gallon. Foliar work runs heavier at 4 mL per gallon, sprayed once or twice a week with lights off. An aggressive root rate of 6 mL per five gallons is also listed. It acts as a surfactant too, so a separate wetting agent is not needed.
Getting Plant Available Silicon Into the Reservoir Safely
Mixing sequence is not optional with this one. Fill the reservoir with fresh clean water first. Add the silicic acid next and mix it in properly. Only then does the rest of the fertiliser go in. Reversing that sequence is how people end up with precipitate in the bottom of a tank. Keep the measuring gear clean and dry, and never pour anything back into the bottle. Water or debris in the concentrate will spoil it. It works across soil, soilless and hydroponic media and sits alongside any premium programme.
