What General Hydroponics FloraMicro 5-0-1 Supplies to a Feed
This dark brown concentrate is the foundation part of the Flora Series three-part feed. The guaranteed analysis lists 5% total nitrogen, 0.3% ammoniacal and 4.7% nitrate. It also carries 5% calcium and 1% soluble potash. Boron, cobalt, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum and zinc round out the micronutrient package. Copper, iron, manganese and zinc are fully chelated, so they stay available across the normal hydroponic pH range. Nitrogen and calcium come mainly from calcium nitrate and ammonium nitrate, with potassium nitrate supplying the potash. It is concentrated to the limit of solubility, which is why it must never touch FloraGro or FloraBloom undiluted. Ratios between the three parts shift from growth to bloom, so one set of bottles covers the full crop cycle. The concentrate sits at about pH 5.8 and is not classed as hazardous. A quart suits a home grow, a tent or a trial run of a new program.
Mixing a Flora Series Base Nutrient Batch
A flora series base nutrient batch starts with FloraMicro, every time. Shake the bottle well, add it to fresh water first and stir thoroughly before anything else goes in. Then add FloraGro and FloraBloom at the ratio for the current stage, stirring between each part. The 3-part chart starts at about 2 mL per gallon for seedlings and clones in the medium program. Medium rates peak near 6.8 mL per gallon in late growth before stepping down through bloom. Check pH last and hold the reservoir between 5.5 and 6.5. Keep the solution below 75 °F, aerate it constantly and replace it every 7 to 10 days. Ease off strength if plants show stress, or under very bright, hot or dry conditions. If crystals form in a cold bottle, mix the contents with an equal amount of hot water and double the dose. Store it sealed, upright and frost-free, and use an opened bottle within one growing season.
