Crown diameter is what forces a dedicated plate, and at 14 mm the Party cone sits outside what the Standard tooling will hold. The Futurola KB300 party filling device is the 140 mm cone plate for a Knockbox 300.

Crown Diameter and the Futurola KB300 Party Filling Device

The Party cone has a 14 mm crown, above the band narrower plates cover. That is why this size needs tooling of its own. The cone is 140/26 and holds 2.0 grams, making it the longest format in the range. Length and crown move together here: a longer paper needs a wider mouth to load without creasing. Force this cone into a narrower pocket and the tip folds before any material goes in. This part is the plate for a Knockbox 300, supplied on its own. Base, controller and power cord, spill tray, mix tray and unload station are each sold on their own. Party uses the Basic unload station. On the full kit Futurola pair this plate with a 30 mm mix tray. A bare device arrives without that tray, so one may need adding. Check what is already on the bench before treating this as a drop-in change.

Getting a 140 mm Cone Plate to Fill Evenly

A 140 mm cone plate is the hardest size in the range to fill consistently, and the reason is gravity. Material has further to travel before it packs, so the bottom third compresses while the top stays loose. Two habits fix most of it. Run a fine grind and give the tray a longer vibration cycle before the knock. Weigh the first row of every run rather than trusting the plate to be self-levelling. Operators who skip that step usually find out at the packaging station, which is the expensive place to find out. Packaging is the other constraint and it is worth settling before a production commitment. Shelf-ready tubes and pouches are mostly cut shorter than this format, so confirm the pack fits the paper. Keep the plate flat off the machine and clean the funnels with isopropyl between runs. Resin in the taper reduces the fill without announcing itself. One ceiling to plan around: The Knockbox 500 does not accept this plate. That restriction belongs to the 500 rather than to the Party cone itself.

Key Features

  • 14 mm crown: The Party cone aperture, which is why the tooling is separate.
  • 140/26 cone at 2.0 grams: The longest format in the range, with the slow burn that length gives.
  • Paired with a 30 mm mix tray: The Party tray size, and a bare device arrives without one.
  • Basic unload grade: The grade for this cone size.
  • A plate, not a machine: Knockbox 3 base, controller, spill tray, mix tray and unload station are separate.
  • Confirm your packaging: Most shelf tubes and pouches are cut shorter than a 140 mm cone.
  • Not accepted by the KB500: Futurola exclude this plate from the Knockbox 500.
