What the Futurola Knockbox 100 Base Covers
The base is the machine frame and vibration deck that every other Knockbox 100 part mounts to. A filling plate sits in it, a mix tray sits over the plate, and the deck does the packing. What arrives here is that frame alone. The controller and power adapter are separate parts, and so is the filling kit. A complete system as Futurola sell it pairs the base with a controller, a power adapter, a chosen filling kit and a 36 mm mix tray. Reading that list against your own bench is the whole job before committing to a base. The machine fills up to 100 cones in about two minutes once it is complete. Cone diameters it accepts are 18, 24, 30 and 36 mm, which is the full Futurola range. Those same four figures are the mix tray sizes, because the tray matches the cone. Standard filling kits cover King 109/21 and 109/26, Slim 98/26 and 1 1/4 84/26. Slender cones need tooling of their own.
The Density Control Button and Why Cycle Time Matters
The density control button lives on the controller rather than on the base. It selects a filling cycle of either sixty or ninety seconds. That choice is the only compression control the machine gives you, and it does real work. A longer cycle vibrates for longer, so material settles further and the cone finishes denser. A short cycle is faster per batch and leaves a looser fill. Which one is right depends on grind and moisture rather than on preference. Drier, finer material packs well on the short cycle and over-compresses on the long one. Damp or coarse material needs the full ninety seconds to reach a saleable weight. Weigh a row from each cycle length when a new batch of material comes in. Two minutes of weighing settles an argument that otherwise runs all shift. Because the button is on the controller, a base on its own cannot be dialled in at all. That is the practical reason the controller is the first part to add.
Key Features
- The machine frame: The vibration deck that a filling plate and mix tray mount into.
- Base only: A controller, power adapter and filling kit are each separate parts.
- Fills 100 cones in about two minutes: The rate for a complete Knockbox 100.
- Cone diameters 18, 24, 30 and 36 mm: The full Futurola range, and the same four mix tray sizes.
- Standard kit coverage: King 109/21 and 109/26, Slim 98/26 and 1 1/4 84/26.
- Cycle length is set on the controller: Sixty or ninety seconds, using the density button.
