What the Geoflora VEG Case Holds
Five factory-sealed bags come in the box, which is 40 lb of the 5-3-4 granule in total. The analysis is 5 percent total nitrogen, 3 percent available phosphate and 4 percent soluble potash. Calcium sits at 3 percent, magnesium at 0.5 and sulfur at 1 percent. One line underneath those matters more than any of them. Of the 5 percent nitrogen, 4 is water insoluble and only 1 is water soluble. Four fifths of the nitrogen therefore arrives on the schedule soil biology sets rather than on the next watering. Three further declarations sit on the panel that rarely appear on a granule. Humic acid is 0.6 percent, yucca schidigera extract 0.4 percent and molasses 1.0 percent. Yucca works as a wetting agent and molasses feeds microbes, which is why this reads as an amendment. Nineteen organic inputs build it. Alfalfa meal, bat guano, blood meal, bone meal and composted turkey litter lead the list. Crustacean meal, feather meal, fish bone meal, fish protein hydrolysate and kelp meal follow. Neem seed meal, rock phosphate, volcanic ash and two mineral sulfates close it. A selected blend of beneficial bacteria travels with the granules, and the whole thing is OMRI Listed and a registered CDFA Organic Input Material.
Running an Organic Dry Fertilizer Through Veg
An organic dry fertilizer shows its value when the weight on hand matches the length of the cycle. Forty pounds is six hundred and forty ounces. At eight ounces per ten gallon pot, that is eighty container applications. On open ground at two tablespoons per square foot, the same box covers around six hundred square feet of bed. The veg programme starts before the plant is in the pot. Eight ounces, one level cup, gets amended into the medium at transplant, which gives a ready-to-plant mix instead of a schedule to run. After that a cup goes onto the surface of each ten gallon pot every fortnight until flowering begins. Water it in as normal and leave the rest to the biology. The eight pound bag is the useful unit in a case like this. One bag holds sixteen cups, so a room of a dozen ten gallon pots takes most of a bag at each fortnightly feed. Four bags stay sealed while that one is open, and that is the whole argument for the format. Meals, guano and composted litter all draw moisture out of the air once a bag has been opened. A damp amendment clumps, loses its dustless handling, and starts composting inside its own packaging. Keep it in soil or in a peat or coconut fibre mix, because aquaponics and inert slabs give the bacteria nothing to work on.
Key Features
- Five sealed bags: Forty pounds of the 5-3-4 granule arriving in one box.
- 5-3-4 analysis: With 3 percent calcium, 0.5 magnesium and 1 percent sulfur.
- Four fifths insoluble nitrogen: Released as soil biology works through the meals.
- Humic, yucca and molasses: 0.6, 0.4 and 1.0 percent, all three declared on the panel.
- Nineteen organic inputs: Plus a selected blend of beneficial bacteria.
- OMRI Listed and CDFA OIM: Cleared for certified organic production, California included.
- Eighty container feeds: Or roughly six hundred square feet of native soil per case.
- Dustless granule: Working a cup into a canopy puts no powder in the air.
