Reading the Grow More Sea Grow Analysis Properly
The three even numbers hide the interesting part of this label. Total nitrogen is 16.00 percent, and the split is where it matters: 4.0 percent ammoniacal, 2.0 percent nitrate and 10.0 percent water soluble organic nitrogen. Two thirds of the nitrogen here is organic rather than mineral salt. It comes from Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed powder, which is the first item on the derived-from line. Available phosphate and soluble potash both sit at 16.00 percent. Magnesium is 0.50 percent and sulfur 3.00 percent. The micronutrients run boron at 0.02 percent, copper, manganese and zinc at 0.05 percent each, iron at 0.10 percent and molybdenum at 0.0005 percent. Copper, iron, manganese and zinc are all supplied as EDTA chelates, which keeps them available across a wider pH range than sulfate forms manage.
Feeding Rates for a 16-16-16 Soluble Powder
The label gives four rates and they are not interchangeable. Container plants take one teaspoon per gallon on a periodic feed, dropping to half a teaspoon per gallon if every watering is fed. Flowers and roses take a tablespoon per gallon periodically, or a teaspoon per gallon on constant feed. Transplants get a tablespoon per gallon as a settling-in drench. At scale the rate becomes one to two pounds per hundred gallons. Halving the dose when moving from periodic to constant feed is the step growers skip most often. One honest note belongs here. This is a hybrid product and not an organic input, and it is not OMRI listed. The derived-from line runs to urea, ammonium phosphate, potassium nitrate and chelates alongside the seaweed.
