Reading the Spectrum Numbers on a 1000W CMH Bulb

Two figures get quoted on any 1000w cmh bulb and they measure different things. PAR at 2,050 umol/s is the photon count, which is what a plant actually spends. Colour rendering is a separate matter, and Growers Choice publishes CRI 98 for this lamp. A high CRI means the light carries a broad, even spread of visible wavelengths. The room looks natural, and you can spot a deficiency or a pest by eye. It is not a yield figure. At 3100K the output is weighted warm, which suits bloom, and growers do run it through veg as well. One thing to settle before fitting. Confirm your ballast and fixture are rated for a CMH lamp of this wattage. A double ended socket alone does not guarantee the ballast will drive it correctly. Note also that this lamp is supplied as part of a fixture rather than sold on its own.
