Reading Conductivity with the Growlink Batch TankLINK EC Sensor

The Growlink Batch TankLINK EC Sensor measures nutrient solution conductivity inside a batch tank in real time. The probe reads across a 0–7,000 µS range. Accuracy is ±20 µS below 2,000 µS and ±50 µS above that. Resolution is 2 µS — roughly 0.02 mS/cm in PPM-meter terms. A 10-foot cable runs from the probe to the Batch TankLINK controller's labeled screw terminal block. The cable also carries a PT1000 element that gives the controller automatic temperature compensation on every reading. Calibration is a single-point process at 1413 µS. Drop the probe into calibration solution alongside the temperature probe to lock in the cal pass.

Wiring the TankLINK EC Probe into a Recirculation Loop

Most batch-tank installs run a separate probe per recirculation loop. The 10-foot cable covers tanks within reach of the controller. The 30-foot option (available separately) handles longer runs where the controller mounts wall-side and the tank sits across the room. Growers usually position this TankLINK EC probe near the recirculation return for a representative read. Pair the data with the TankLINK's automated dosing and refill triggers and the nutrient solution EC sensor holds the line to setpoint between batches. PT1000-compensated readings also mean morning EC checks match afternoon checks even when the room runs 8°F warmer under lights. Plug-and-play wiring keeps a single-probe swap during teardown to a few minutes. No driver shuffling — just the batch tank conductivity probe back into the terminal block and a fresh 1413 µS recalibrate. Most rooms swap the probe at the start of each season or when calibration drift crosses ±50 µS at the cal point.

Key Features

  • 0–7,000 µS Range: Covers the full PPM band growers feed across veg, transition, and bloom in one probe.
  • Tiered Accuracy: ±20 µS below 2,000 µS and ±50 µS above — tight enough to catch real EC drift between feeds.
  • Built-In PT1000 Compensation: The cable carries a temperature element so readings stay honest across an 8°F lights-on swing.
  • 10 ft Cable Standard: Reaches most controller-to-tank layouts; a 30 ft version is available separately for longer runs.
  • Single-Point Calibration: One 1413 µS solution and the LCD wizard handle the full cal — no two-point dance required.
