The Growlink RJ45 Dimming Adapter Bridges a Fixture Cable and the lightLINK
This small part is the link between a grow light's RJ45 dimming cable and the Growlink digital lightLINK. One end is a female RJ45 jack set in a white panel-mount housing with two screw ears. The other end is a short lead that splits into four stripped, tinned wires. Those wires land in the lightLINK's terminal block, and the fixture's own RJ45 cable plugs straight into the jack. Nothing on the fixture side gets cut. Once it is wired, the lightLINK passes intensity commands from GrowlinkOS through the adapter to the connected fixtures. That brings the module's automation to RJ45-port lights: sunrise and sunset ramping, dimming when the room runs hot, and adaptive intensity. High-temperature dimming depends on a canopyLINK and a climaLINK registered to the same LINKS HUB. Each digital lightLINK runs one lighting zone, so a room split into zones takes one module per zone. The screw ears let the jack fix to a wall, a rack upright or an enclosure panel instead of hanging off the terminals.
Installing the Lighting Adapter Without Guessing at the Pinout
Mount the jack where the fixture cable reaches it without strain, usually beside the lightLINK or on the nearest upright. Check the fixture manual before landing any wire, because RJ45 dimming pinouts differ between lighting brands. Growlink publishes wiring diagrams by fixture brand, and the lead colors should follow the diagram that matches your lights. Bring one fixture up at a low setpoint first, then add the rest of the zone once it tracks the commands. The adapter only carries the control signal, and fixture power stays on its own line-voltage circuit. Keep the control run apart from line-voltage wiring, since electrical noise on a dimming line can make fixtures drift or flicker. It accepts RJ45 plugs only, and a six-position RJ12 plug will not seat in the jack. There are no settings on the part itself, so schedules, ramps and limits all live in GrowlinkOS. Rooms already on the LINKS system get lighting in the same dashboard as climate and irrigation, with no separate dimmer box. It does nothing alone without a digital lightLINK and a LINKS HUB, so it belongs in rooms built on Growlink control.
Key Features
- RJ45 Fixture Jack: The fixture's factory dimming cable plugs straight in, with no cutting or splicing on the light side.
- Pre-Stripped Leads: Four tinned wires go directly into the digital lightLINK terminal block during install.
- Screw-Mount Housing: Two ears fix the jack to a panel or rack so the lead is not hanging from the terminals.
- Digital lightLINK Pairing: Intensity commands from GrowlinkOS reach the connected fixtures through the adapter.
- Automated Light Control: Sunrise and sunset ramps, heat dimming and adaptive intensity reach lights with RJ45 dimming ports.
