The Growlink M8 Transition Cable Turns Plain Sensor Wires Into an M8 Connection
Each of the four cables in this pack has a female M8 connector on one end and bare tinned leads on the other. The M8 end carries four sockets inside a knurled metal coupling nut that threads onto a 4-pin male M8 port. The other end splits into four color-coded wires with tinned tips, ready for a screw terminal or a solder joint. Growlink makes it as the bridge between its M8 sensor network and any device that ships with plain wire leads. Its canopyLINK sensor hub uses threaded 4-pin male M8 ports, one sensor per port. Growlink's own setup guide says sensors without a matching 4-pin female M8 connector need an adapter cable. This cable is that adapter. Wire the device leads to the tinned ends, thread the nut onto a free port, and the hub takes it from there. Four cables cover half of a canopyLINK's eight ports, or leave spares for the next room. The blue jacket makes these custom runs easy to pick out in a crowded rack.
Working With Bare Tinned Leads on a canopyLINK Port
Most of the work happens at the bare end, so pull up the device's wiring diagram before stripping anything further. Power, ground and signal have to land on the pins the port expects, so map each wire color against the port pinout first. A continuity tester settles any doubt about which color runs to which socket before power goes on. Ferrules or heat-shrink butt splices hold up better than a bare twist when the joint sits in a humid room. Thread the coupling nut on by hand until it seats, since forcing a small M8 thread can strip it. Keep the splice above benches and away from misters or drip lines, where condensation can work into the joint. A drip loop just before the connector sends water off the cable instead of toward the port. These are short transition leads rather than long runs, so distance to the hub still comes from the device cable or an extension. Each cable serves one device on one port, so count open ports before planning a room. Devices that already carry a female M8 plug connect directly and skip this step entirely.
Key Features
- Four Cables Per Pack: One cable per sensor port, with enough in a set to wire several custom devices at once.
- 4-Pin Female M8: The knurled metal coupling nut threads onto 4-pin male M8 ports for a locked connection.
- Bare Tinned Leads: Color-coded wires with tinned tips go straight into screw terminals or take solder cleanly.
- canopyLINK Ready: The female M8 end fits the hub's threaded sensor ports, one device per port.
- Custom Wiring: Sensors, controllers and other equipment with plain leads join the Growlink system.
