An 8-inch double-ended reflector with selectable cooling
The HDE runs a double-ended HPS lamp from 400 to 1000W. At the 8-inch flanges you get four field-selectable options: sealed, air-cooled with a lens, or open without one. Concealed Vacuum Airflow Technology hides the ducts so the parabolic hood uses 100% of its surface, adding about 30% more reflective area than open-duct designs. That translates to more uniform light over the canopy for indoor or greenhouse rooms. Growers running the 1000W lamp air-cool it with a 650 to 875 CFM fan to clear the roughly 3700 BTU it throws off.
Cooling and build on the HDE reflector
The hood is heavy-duty 22-gauge steel, powder-coated inside and out, with a 1/8-inch tempered glass lens behind a removable door for quick re-lamping and cleaning. Redesigned K12x30S sockets make swapping DE lamps easy. It ships with a 15 ft cord and ballast plug plus a pair of mounting V-hooks, and it is UL listed for damp locations. One note: the body is 17.5 x 10.5 x 9.75 inches, so add about 5 inches when the 8-inch ducts are fitted.
