GrowoniX KDF85 Catalytic Carbon Filter for High-Flow Systems

The 4510 KDF85 filter is the 4.5 x 9.75 in cartridge for high-flow GrowoniX systems. KDF85 uses copper-zinc granules and a redox reaction to strip chlorine, dissolved metals, scale, and hydrogen sulfide. The highly reactive catalytic carbon is extremely porous and long lasting, and it handles the chloramine that ordinary carbon leaves behind. Its bacteriostatic media keeps microorganisms from breeding in the cartridge. Rated at 20 micron with a 16,000-gallon capacity, it runs as the carbon step ahead of your RO membrane. It is NSF certified for drinking water systems.

Chloramine and Heavy-Metal Removal for City or Well Water

On city water, the catalytic carbon takes down chlorine and the chloramine standard carbon struggles with. On well water, the KDF85 pulls out iron, hydrogen sulfide, and heavy metals before they foul the membrane. That pre-treatment is what stretches membrane life.
