The white coconut carbon block is the 4.5 x 9.75 in coconut shell activated carbon element for high-flow GrowoniX systems. It reduces chlorine, taste, odor, and certain VOCs, and it holds dirt well. Free chlorine breaks down TFC membranes over time, so this carbon stage protects the membrane downstream. It meets NSF Standard 42 and carries a 10-micron rating. Capacity runs to 16,000 gallons of chlorine removal. It is the economy pick in the GrowoniX carbon line.

When to Choose KDF85 Instead

Standard coconut carbon is built for chlorine and VOC reduction, not chloramine. If your city water is dosed with chloramine, or your well water carries iron and hydrogen sulfide, step up to the KDF85 carbon filter. For straight chlorine and taste-and-odor cleanup, this block does the job for less. It fits the GrowoniX EX600, EX1000, GX600, and GX1000 systems, plus the Lil Boss and Lil Boss Deluxe. Swap it at capacity, or sooner if a chlorine taste returns.
