GrowoniX EX400 Green Coconut Carbon Filter (2.5 x 10)
This GrowoniX EX400 carbon filter is the green block, a 2.5" x 9.75" cartridge of high-purity coconut-shell activated carbon with a low carbon footprint. It reduces chlorine, taste, odor, and certain VOCs while holding dirt well and keeping flow up. Coconut carbon is a chlorine filter, not a chloramine one, so match it to a chlorine-treated municipal supply. It runs about 8,000 gallons of chlorine removal, or roughly 2,500 gallons of RO water at a 2:1 ratio.
Fitment and When to Swap the 2.5 x 10 Green Carbon
This 10-inch cartridge fits the EX100, EX200, EX400, the GX150 through GX400 systems, and the Mini Scrub. Plan a fresh cartridge every 6 to 12 months, or sooner if flow drops or chlorine taste returns. Carbon protects the RO membrane downstream, since chlorine destroys TFC membranes on contact. If your district runs chloramine, step up to the KDF85/catalytic version instead.
