Cold water is denser and more viscous, so it's harder to push through any membrane. Production can fall by roughly 50% between 77°F and 50°F, and the system ratio drifts toward the drain as feed water cools. This high flow cold water element is engineered to resist that drop, but it's still smart to check your system ratio through winter and, if needed, add a booster pump or warm the feed slightly to recover throughput.
