Gorilla GXi 4 Pairs 212 CFM With a 28 dB-A Noise Floor
The GXi 4 is a 4-inch EC duct fan with the controller built in. It moves 212 CFM while drawing 30W, or 0.25A at 120V. The number that matters is 28 dB-A. That is quiet enough to sit in a closet tent in a bedroom without becoming the loudest thing in the room. It runs on 120-240VAC, so it works on either supply, and the housing measures 12 x 8 x 7.5 in.
Setting Up a Quiet Inline Duct Fan Over Wi-Fi
Speed is set from the Gorilla Grow Tent app rather than a wall box. Day and night settings are on board, so output drops on the dark cycle without a timer. The part to plan for is the automation, because temperature and humidity response only works once you add the GXi sensor, which is sold separately. Without it you get app speed control and scheduling, not climate response. The fan is FCC registered rather than UL or ETL listed, which is worth knowing if your build is inspected. The cord is five feet. Mount it with the airflow arrow pointing out of the tent.
Key Features
- 212 CFM at 4 in: Sized for a small tent or a booster on a longer duct run.
- 28 dB-A: Quiet enough for a tent sharing a wall with a bedroom.
- 30W EC Motor: Draws 0.25A at 120V, so it barely registers on the circuit.
- Controller Built In: App speed control with no separate wall unit to mount or wire.
- Day and Night Settings: Output steps down on the dark cycle without an external timer.
- 120-240VAC Input: Runs on either supply voltage without a different model.
- Sensor-Ready Automation: Add the GXi sensor for temperature and humidity response.
