Horticulture Lighting Group now lists this fixture as the HLG 350 Diablo. It draws up to 330W and dims down to 60W. Output is rated at 1,011+ µmol/s for an efficacy of 3.11 µmol/J. Two custom boards carry Samsung LM301H white diodes and LM351H deep red, with a broad blue band for veg. HLG positions it as a replacement for a 600W HID. An auto-sensing Inventronics driver accepts 120–277V at 50–60 Hz, so the same light plugs into 120V, 240V or 277V. Dimming runs from the onboard knob or an RJ12 controller. The rectangular frame measures 34.5 x 10 x 2.75 in and weighs 10 lb. Cooling is passive, with no fans to fail or clean. The fixture carries UL 8800, UL 1598 and CSA listings and a 5-year warranty.
Growing Under a Diablo Quantum Board Light
A diablo quantum board fixture this size fits long, narrow spaces better than a square panel. HLG rates flower coverage at 3 x 5 ft with the light 15 inches over the canopy. Raise it to 24 inches and it covers a 5 x 5 ft veg area. That makes it a good match for a 2x4 or 3x5 tent, or a veg shelf in a larger room. The added deep red gives flowering plants a stronger push than white diodes alone. Start around half power for seedlings and young veg, then climb toward full output after the flip. Watch the tops for bleaching or tacoing leaves, the signal to raise the light or back off a step. Growers moving from HID often raise room temperature a couple of degrees, since LED puts less radiant heat on the leaves. Plants may also drink less, so check pot weight before watering. For a full 4x4 or 5x5 flower canopy, a larger HLG fixture delivers more even light.
