What the Evolution Reverse Osmosis 1200 Produces

Fifty gallons an hour, on line pressure alone. Rated output is 1,200 GPD, rising to about 1,600 GPD at 80 psi or with the optional booster pump. It strips 95% or more of dissolved solids from tap water, and it needs no electricity unless you add that pump.

Reading the Evolution RO 1000 Name and the Waste Ratio

Two things confuse people on this system. The first is the name. Searches for the Evolution RO 1000 land here because this is the same line, uprated. The model you remember and the one on this page are the same family. The second is waste water. Reverse osmosis discards what it rejects, and this runs a 2:1 waste to product ratio as standard, with a 1:1 option that halves the discard. Internally there are three canisters: one KDF and catalytic carbon pre-filter, then two high flow membranes. The carbon handles chlorine and chloramines on city water, or iron, hydrogen sulphide and heavy metals on a well. Replace the carbon every 2,000 gallons and the membranes every six months to two years, depending on what you put through them.

Key Features

  • 1,200 GPD, 50 gallons an hour: Up to about 1,600 GPD at 80 psi, or with the optional booster pump.
  • 95%+ of dissolved solids: Taken off tap water before it reaches a reservoir or an injector.
  • No electricity needed: Line pressure runs it, unless you add the booster pump accessory.
  • 2:1 waste, or 1:1 as an option: The option halves what goes to drain for the same product water.
  • Three canisters: One KDF and catalytic carbon pre-filter, then two high flow membranes.
  • 2,000 gallons on the carbon: Membranes run six months to two years, depending on source water.
