Using It as a Pre-Filter Ahead of an RO System
HydroLogic positions it that way itself. Chlorine strips a membrane and sediment blinds it, so a de-chlorinator ahead of a Stealth buys the RO cartridges months of life. Removal is rated at 99% of chlorine and 90% of sediment, rust and silt, down to 5 micron at 2 GPM. VOCs, mercury, lead and PCBs come out too. It arrives with both hose connectors, a female and a brass male. A 4 ft feed line, a 4 ft outlet, a wall bracket and a wrench are in the box. One correction worth making here. Chloramine is not on the list for the standard green coconut carbon, whatever a spec sheet elsewhere claims. The ChloraShield cartridge is the part rated for it, at 6,000 gallons. The unit is 12 by 25.5 by 6 in at 12.6 lb.
