The second approach suits tents with limited height, since you never move the ratchets. Watch the tops for a week after flip. If the upper leaves start to taco or bleach, raise the board or back off one dimmer step. The dimmer port doubles as a UIS data port, so a Controller 69 Pro can run sunrise and sunset ramps from the app. Multiple boards can be linked through dongles if you ever expand to a second tent or a larger room. One honest limit: the published PPFD is a single figure with no coverage map, so treat it as the strongest reading, not the corner value. Plants in the far corners of a 3x3 will see less, and rotating pots once a week evens that out.
