GrowoniX KDF85 Catalytic Carbon Filter (2.5 x 20)
This GrowoniX KDF85 catalytic carbon filter is a 2.5" x 20" cartridge that pairs KDF85 media with highly reactive catalytic carbon to remove chloramine, chlorine, iron, hydrogen sulfide, heavy metals, and scale. Catalytic carbon breaks down chloramine, which most water districts now use, and the KDF85 media is bacteriostatic to control microorganism growth. The KDF stage also extends the life of the activated carbon. It is rated for roughly 17,000 gallons of chlorine or chloramine removal, or about 6,000 gallons of RO water at a 2:1 ratio.
Chloramine Removal for EX400T, EX800T, and SlimScrub
This 20-inch cartridge fits the tall EX400-T, EX800-T, and the SlimScrub. The KDF media reduces about 99% of free chlorine, 90% of iron, and 98% of soluble lead and mercury. Flush a new cartridge before running to the reservoir, since KDF and catalytic carbon shed fine particles at first. Plan a change every 6 to 12 months, sooner on heavy chloramine or well water.
Key Features
- KDF85 + Catalytic Carbon: Breaks down chloramine that plain carbon leaves behind.
- 17,000-Gallon Capacity: Chlorine/chloramine, or about 6,000 gal RO at 2:1.
- Broad Contaminant Removal: Chlorine, chloramine, iron, H2S, heavy metals, scale.
- Bacteriostatic Media: Controls microorganism growth and extends carbon life.
- Metal Reduction: ~99% free chlorine, ~90% iron, ~98% soluble lead and mercury.
