Why an iPonic Extension Cable Rather Than a Splice
The rule is explicit: use Link4 extension cables, junction boxes and approved wire. They warn that cutting and splicing can produce unstable sensor readings and outright failures. That is not a warranty formality on a digital sensor bus, it is how noise gets in. The cable here is shielded four conductor at 24 AWG, UL rated, in a PVC jacket. Conductors are black, red, green and white, which is the whole pin count on a four pin connector. Both ends are twist and lock in line connectors rated IP68 and immersible beyond a metre. The gland accepts cable between 4 and 6.5 mm, and one end is male while the other is female. Fifty feet of it weighs around three pounds, which matters if it is being suspended. The part number is 995-0020-00, which is the fifty foot length.
Where the Sensor Module Actually Belongs in the Room
The Digital Integrated Sensor Module reads humidity, temperature, carbon dioxide and light. Link4 say to mount it centrally, near crop level, and away from irrigation emitters, unit heaters and anything else that skews a reading. They also say the light sensor at the top of the module must face up toward the fixtures. None of that is possible from a controller cabinet on the wall by the door. That gap between where the controller lives and where the sensor belongs is the entire reason this part exists. Sixteen feet gets you off the wall; fifty feet gets you to the middle of a bay. Run it in trunking or along a truss rather than across a floor that gets hosed. Keep it clear of ballast and fixture power runs where the layout allows, because that is what the shield is fighting. It fits the iPonic 600 series controllers, including the 614 and the 624. Anyone with a single small room will not need this at all.
