Where Liquid KoolBloom Fits in the Flower Cycle

The first number is zero, and that is the entire design. Nitrogen builds leaf, and by the time a plant is setting flower, leaf is not what you are asking it to do. Taking nitrogen out and loading phosphorus and potassium pushes the plant to spend on flower rather than foliage. What delivers it is dipotassium phosphate, magnesium phosphate, monopotassium phosphate and potassium sulfate. The timing is straightforward enough. Start in early bloom and run it through to late bloom. General Hydroponics then pairs it with Ripen for week two of the final fortnight, drops KoolBloom, and finishes on Ripen alone before the flush. It sits on top of a base feed rather than replacing one.

Dosing a 0-10-10 Fertilizer by the Millilitre

The rate is small enough that people mis-measure it. One millilitre per gallon is the standard, and an intensive programme goes to two. Beyond that you are guessing, so watch the EC and watch the plant rather than the bottle. Mixing follows a sequence that matters. Base nutrients into fresh water first, then this, then anything else. Adding a concentrate to concentrate rather than to water is how people end up with precipitate in the bottom of a tank. Check pH after everything is in, never before. It runs through fertigation and irrigation lines without trouble, and suits any medium from rockwool to soil.

Key Features

  • Zero nitrogen by design: 0-10-10, so nothing in it pushes the plant back towards leaf.
  • Phosphorus and potassium: From dipotassium phosphate, magnesium phosphate, monopotassium phosphate and potassium sulfate.
  • 1 mL per gallon: The standard rate. An intensive programme runs at two, watching EC.
  • Early bloom to late bloom: Start when flower sets and carry it through, on top of a base feed.
  • Hands off at the end: Paired with Ripen in week two of the last fortnight, then Ripen alone.
  • Mixing sequence matters: Base nutrients into water first, then this, then other supplements.
  • Check pH last: After everything is in the tank, because each addition moves the number.
  • Runs through a line: Compatible with fertigation and irrigation systems without special handling.
  • Any medium: Rockwool, coco, soil and water culture all take it the same way.
  • Six sizes: From a quart up to a 275 gallon tote, at the same 1 mL per gallon rate.
