What Is Actually in Grandevo WDG, and What It Kills
Grandevo is a fermentation product rather than a plant extract, and that distinction runs through everything it does. The active is Chromobacterium subtsugae strain PRAA4-1T together with its spent fermentation media, at 30.0 percent by weight. EPA registration is 84059-17 and the signal word is CAUTION. It works three ways at once: repellency, ingestion and disruption of reproduction. That combination is why it reads as a resistance management tool rather than a knockdown spray. Rate is one to three pounds per acre, or one to three pounds per 100 gallons in a greenhouse. Heavier pressure takes it to two to six pounds per acre on some crop and pest pairings. Restricted entry interval is four hours and the pre-harvest interval is zero days. Labelled pests cover caterpillars, aphids, whiteflies, mites, thrips, beetles and some nematodes. The label is broad across specialty crops, from blueberry and grape to leafy greens and tree nuts. This is the dry flowable, which is a different product from the CG granule.
Where Grandevo Insecticide Fits, and the Bee Note on the Label
Grandevo insecticide is at its best used early, when adults first move in and before a population compounds. As a rescue treatment on a heavy infestation it will disappoint, and that is worth knowing before the first application. It tank mixes and it rotates, which is most of its practical value in a programme. It does carry a bee restriction, and the label is explicit about it. It temporarily repels honeybees for up to four to six days after spraying, so time applications away from pollination. On a crop that needs bees set, that window has to be planned around. Protective equipment is long sleeves, long trousers, waterproof gloves, eye protection and a particulate respirator for mixing. The residue position is the strong part: exempt from residue tolerances, so it can go on right up to harvest.
