What the Operator MH Corrects Under Metal Halide

Metal halide is not sodium. It skews blue and green rather than yellow. A lens built for HPS is the wrong tool in a halide room, and can make matters worse. These lenses are formulated for metal halide alone, which is unusual. Most colour balancing eyewear is built around HPS first.

Lens and Frame on These MH Glasses

Optics come from Carl Zeiss Vision, in a proprietary polymer rather than glass. The lens is base 8 curved and asymmetrically cast, which is what keeps the edges from distorting on a deep wrap. Coatings do the rest: a silver layer that knocks intensity down for a bright room, plus anti-reflection, anti-fog, resin repel and a petrol mirror. Protection is 100% UV. Safety ratings are ANSI Z87+S and CSA-Z94.3, covering impact and optical radiation if your site asks for certified eyewear. The frame is thermo-injected TR-90, designed in California and assembled in Italy, running slightly wide with rubber grip nose pads. The silver coating also makes them usable outdoors.
