Netafim Angle Arrow Dripper for Large Container Pots

Water that lands on the rim or the foliage of a potted plant is water the roots never see. This Netafim drip stake, item 22000-001320 and model 01MODS-A-ANG-B, puts each drop right into the container media. The standard angle arrow measures 6-3/8 in long, and Netafim specifies it for large pots. Its barbed inlet sits at a right angle to the stake, so the micro tube comes in from the side. The long stake then leads each drop down into the media toward the root ball. It pushes into 3 x 5 mm micro tube, the size Netafim uses on its Super Flex White PE tubing. In the Netafim Multi-Outlet Dripper system, the arrow is the end point of every tube on a flat or stackable manifold. It also works as a single drip stake on a tube run straight from a Woodpecker PC Junior dripper. Netafim builds the arrow with high UV resistance, and it stands up to standard agricultural nutrients. Every pack contains 100 arrow stakes.

Placing an Arrow Drip Stake in the Container

Cut each micro tube to reach its pot without stretching, then push the barb firmly into the tube end. Press the arrow drip stake into the media near the stem, angled toward the root ball rather than the pot wall. Setting it at the same depth and position in every container keeps the wetting pattern even across the bench. Netafim notes that the flow per arrow equals the feeding dripper's flow divided by the number of arrows on its assembly. A 2.0 GPH dripper split four ways, for instance, gives each pot about 0.5 GPH. Use the same assembly at every station in a zone so each plant receives an equal share. Because water goes only into the container, foliage stays dry and run-off between pots drops. Netafim recommends a 120 mesh filter at the control head to keep small passages clear. Check a few arrows after the first irrigation to confirm each one is still seated and dripping. At the end of a crop, pull the arrows with their tubes attached and coil them for the next planting.
