Netafim Rod Mount PC Spray Stake, Blue Single Pattern
Many nursery crews set spray heads at the rim of the pot, aimed in toward the plant. This blue Netafim head, item 22500-005880, does that with a single spray pattern for 10.6 GPH service. Its fan covers 160 degrees and angles down just enough to stay on the soil, not over the wall. Netafim gives a spray radius of 8 to 10 in when the head sits 3.5 in above the mix. The 10.6 GPH flow suits larger nursery pots, which Netafim lists at about 10 to 30 gallons. As a rod mount version, the head clips onto a 12 gauge metal rod rather than a molded stake. Rods come separately, item 00130-000031 at 8 in and item 00130-000032 at 12 in. Driving a rod deeper steadies the head in very coarse bark. Raising it increases the wetted area as the crop fills out. Setting a 10.6 GPH Single Pattern Stake at the Pot Edge
Pair each head with a blue PC dripper assembly so the flow and color match. That assembly carries the WPCJL pressure compensating dripper, which gives every pot the same output. Insert it into a 3 mm hole punched in the lateral with a Netafim hole punch. Run the system between 22 and 55 psi, with 120 mesh filtration at the head. Aim the fan across the pot so the whole surface wets without spray hitting the far rim. At 60 in spacing and 40 psi on 3/4 in PE pipe, Netafim's chart gives a 360 ft run of 72 pots. One hundred of these stakes running together draw about 18 GPM. Shut off a single pot by moving its tubing and nipple to the side position on the head. The check valve feature keeps the line full after each cycle, holding back up to 10 ft of elevation. Netafim cites typical water savings of 5 to 20% from pressure compensated uniformity.
