Netafim Spray Stake, Blue 10.6 GPH Single Pattern

Setting each spray head at the edge of the pot keeps it clear of the trunk and simple to check. This Netafim head, item 22500-002420 and model 01PSDS-BL1-B, is the blue single pattern option for that layout. Its fan spans 160 degrees and reaches roughly 8 to 10 in when mounted 3.5 in above the soil. The spray is angled down just enough to wet the mix without hitting or clearing the far wall. Water that reaches the surface evenly stays in the mix, so less drains straight out the bottom. The head runs on Netafim's blue 10.6 GPH dripper assembly, which supplies the pressure compensation. Netafim suggests that flow for containers of about 10 to 30 gallons. Each stake assembly carries an inlet filter, which the water moving through the pipe keeps swept clean. That small filter cuts down the plugging that construction debris and repairs can cause. Stakes come 50 to a bag.

Installing a Single Pattern Spray Stake

Netafim lays out installation in three steps. First, punch a 3 mm hole in the supply tube with a Netafim hole punch. Second, push the dripper and tubing assembly into that hole. Third, press this spray stake onto the end of the assembly, then set it in the pot. Each assembly arrives ready to use, so nobody has to cut micro tubing to length on site. Run the zone between 22 and 55 psi behind a central 120 mesh filter. On 1 in PE pipe with 36 in spacing and 30 psi at the inlet, a run can reach 318 ft and 106 pots. One thousand of these heads draw about 177 GPM, according to Netafim's zone flow chart. Move the tube and nipple to the side of the stake to shut off an empty spot. Netafim credits pressure compensated stakes with typical water savings of 5 to 20%.
