The choice against the 120 mesh body comes down to one number downstream. 140 mesh screens to roughly 115 micron on the black disc stack, against 130 micron for the red 120. The Cost of a Finer 140 Mesh Filter
Finer is not automatically better and it carries a real cost in a working system. A 140 mesh filter traps more, so it loads faster. That means cleaning more often and giving up more pressure as it fills. If the smallest orifice downstream is comfortable at 130 micron, running 115 buys you extra maintenance for no benefit. Go finer when the emitter spec says so, or when the source water carries fine silt or algae. Also go finer if a coarser stack has been letting debris reach the drippers.
