Small nursery containers need modest flow, and a long lead lets the pots sit away from the lateral. Netafim's 01PSD032-48B, item 40201-024700, combines both. Its WPCJL dripper delivers 3.2 GPH with pressure compensation, in plum with a black center. A 48 in length of black micro tubing runs from the dripper to an elbow fitting. That elbow accepts Netafim's plum PC spray stake, which completes the station. Netafim matches the 3.2 GPH flow to containers of about 1 to 5 gallons. The plum flow code is easy to tell apart from a distance across the bench. Pressure compensation means pots at the end of a long run receive the same water as those at the valve. Running a Plum Spray Stake Dripper on Long Runs
Netafim notes that low-flow stations can water longer runs from a single line. Netafim's own example uses this flow at 24 in spacing, 35 psi and 1/2 in PE pipe. That layout allows a run of 220 ft and 110 pots. One hundred stations at this flow draw only about 5 GPM. Install by punching a 3 mm hole in the lateral and pushing the dripper's barb into it. Then press the plum spray stake onto the elbow and set it at the pot. Keep inlet pressure between 22 and 55 psi for proper compensation. Filter the supply to 120 mesh; each assembly's inlet filter adds a second line of defense. The pre-cut lead removes guesswork about tube length during installation. Assemblies can stay in place between crops and need flushing before the next season.
