Netafim Flex Black PE Tubing for Custom Drip Leads
Every pot on a drip bench needs a lead from the supply line, and the right length depends on the layout. A bulk coil lets the grower cut each lead to fit the bench instead of working around fixed lengths. This Netafim coil, item 40001-001980 and model 15FPE53-1000, holds 1,000 ft of Flex Black polyethylene micro tube. Its size is 5/3 mm, meaning a 5 mm outside diameter and a 3 mm bore. Netafim specifies this tubing for its PC spray stake assemblies, from the dripper to the stake elbow. The same 3 x 5 size fits the barbed outlets on Netafim's flat multi-outlet manifolds. Cutting and Routing 5/3 mm Micro Tubing
Measure the run from the lateral to the farthest pot before cutting the first lead. Cut with a sharp blade so each end is square and seals fully on its barb. Push the tube onto the dripper or manifold barb until it covers the barb completely. Fit the stake or emitter on the other end the same way. Keep all the leads on a zone close to the same length so friction losses stay alike. Route each lead along the pot rim rather than across walkways where carts can snag it. A coil this size covers many stations, so offcuts stay useful for repairs. Keep the coil bagged between jobs so dirt stays out of the open ends. Flush the supply line before connecting the leads so debris does not lodge in the small bore. Check each joint for drips on the first run and reseat any lead that weeps.
