Netafim FlexNet 3 Inch Irrigation Pipe, 80 in Outlets
Beds set on 80 in centers need a takeoff only at the head of each bed, which keeps the outlet count low. This coil, Netafim item 43003-006442 and model 05FX03PIPE50-80, has one outlet every 80 in. Each is an integral welded connector with a 1/2 in female thread for a start connector. Netafim fittings make a leak-proof seal there without Teflon tape or glue. Nominal diameter is 3 in, measuring 3.1 in inside over a 0.030 in wall. Working pressure should stay at or below the 29 psi recommended maximum. The pipe is fully recyclable polypropylene with UV and chemical resistance. Charged, it keeps its length with zero axial elongation, and drained, it flattens out. Farm equipment can cross it when it is empty, provided the wheels stay off the outlets. The coil carries 328 ft and weighs about 46 lb with its outlets.
Connecting the Inlet of Pipe With 80 Inch Outlet Spacing
The supply end of the header takes one of two connection kits. The spigot x barb connector kit pairs a coupling adapter with a T-bolt clamp to attach the pipe to PVC. For a threaded valve or pump outlet, the NPT x barb kit gives the pipe a male NPT thread. Stainless steel clamps and rubber seals in the matching size are available as spares for either joint. The far end closes with a FlexNet line end cap, and a coupler connector kit joins one coil to the next. If supply pressure exceeds the pipe's rating, install a pressure regulator and a relief valve before the inlet. With 5/8 in thinwall laterals at 92% uniformity on level ground, a 1 psi friction allowance permits 380 ft of header at 1.46 GPM per lateral. The same allowance permits 267 ft at 2.50 GPM per lateral. At 2 psi of friction loss, the two runs grow to 487 ft and 347 ft. The pipe is backed by a three-year warranty.
