Netafim Hanging Sprinkler Assembly, 18 in Tube

Overhead watering on a single bench works best when every head hangs at the same height and stays still. This bag holds 25 base assemblies, Netafim item 63000-004460 and model 0300HSAC-18-B, each with an 18 in tube. A barbed fitting at the top pushes into the polyethylene sprinkler supply pipe. The tubing is Netafim Super Flex UV White, a soft 4/7 mm polyethylene. A white stabilizer weight keeps the head plumb so the pattern lands where it was designed. At the lower end, a barb x female connector accepts the sprinkler, mister or fogger head. With the head below the pipe, the pipe itself stays dry and cannot drip onto the plants. The opaque white wall keeps light out, so algae does not build up in the tube. UV resistance and a reflective finish let it hang in full sun with cooler water inside. No tools are needed to put the parts together or take them apart.

Watering a Single Bench With an 18 Inch Sprinkler Drop

VibroNet sprinklers are the usual heads for single-bench watering. Designs assume an average sprinkler pressure of 30 psi and 3 ft between sprinklers. On benches 4, 5 or 6 ft wide, either the blue or the green VibroNet nozzle covers the bench. That holds with the heads 2 to 3 ft above the crop, and also at 3 to 5 ft. For several benches or bays, run the sprinkler lines 7, 8 or 9 ft apart. The blue nozzle averages 9.2 GPH, and the green averages 11.7 GPH. With green nozzles, a 3/4 in supply pipe serves runs up to 100 ft, and 1 in pipe covers 125 to 150 ft. Low density polyethylene is strongly recommended for the sprinkler supply pipe. A 35 psi regulator and 120 mesh filter at the control head protect the heads. Each sprinkler carries a check valve that keeps the line from draining onto the plants after shutdown.
