Netafim Hanging Assembly Extension for Long Drops
Greenhouses with very high roofs need drops longer than the standard hanging tubes provide. This is Netafim item 63000-008461, model 0300HSAC-48X-B. It is used to create hanging tube lengths over 48 in for sprinklers, misters or foggers. It belongs to the same hanging assembly series built on Super Flex UV White 4/7 mm polyethylene tubing. That tubing is completely opaque, which keeps algae from forming inside. Its reflective white surface withstands heat, direct sun and harsh chemicals and keeps the water cooler. UV resistance suits it to hanging in full sun. A matching hanging sprinkler assembly tool, item 45000-002270, is made for tube lengths in this range. Each bag holds 25 extensions for a run of tall drops. Heads, base assemblies and the tool are each sold separately.
Hanging Heads in Tall Houses With an Over 48 Inch Drop
Longer drops let the supply pipe run high while the heads still sit at the right height over the crop. Before setting the length, check for curtains, hanging baskets and other obstacles in the drop zone. For watering, SpinNet heads are laid out for heights up to 7 ft above the crop. Wide single bays with heads that high use brown or red bodies with green spinners on 3 ft spacing. For cooling with CoolNet Pro foggers, mount the heads as high as practical without spraying against the roof. Every head should hang below the pipe so the pipe itself never drips on the plants. Sprinklers and misters run through a 35 psi regulator and 120 mesh filter. Fogger zones use a 65 psi regulator and 140 mesh filtration. The check valve in each head keeps the tall line from draining onto the crop after every cycle. Flush all pipes and base assemblies before attaching heads with check valves.
