Seeded vegetable ground needs water that settles the soil without washing the seed out of its furrow. This rotating impact head, Netafim item 63600-002000 and model MGN24D-198HO, is built for that work. The blue cap marks a nominal flow of 1.98 GPM at 33 psi, from a 2.79 mm nozzle. Water leaves through two identical jets on either side of a turning rotor, so the head spins evenly without wobble. Drops stay small and gentle near the ground, which keeps the soil from grooving at start-up and shutdown. That steady pattern helps germination, because seed stays covered for the whole run. An integral filter at the inlet keeps grit out of the nozzle and lifts out for cleaning. A pop-up cover opens only while water is flowing, so insects, spiders and dirt stay out between cycles. The body is made from UV-protected materials that resist fertilizers and agrochemicals. It threads onto a riser through a 1/2 in male connection.

Keep that height in mind under shade cloth or low wires. Filter dirty surface water to 40 mesh, and put a hydrocyclone ahead of the main filter where well water carries sand. Rinse the inlet filter before each season and never run the head without it. The black locking pin under the cap marks the 24° model and holds the rotor in place, so keep it seated after servicing.
