Fitting the Green Nozzle Into Shade House Irrigation
Mount the head on its 1/2 in male thread, using a 20 mm and a 30 mm spanner. Assemble gently and do not overtighten the plastic threads. Run the head between 29 and 44 psi at the sprinkler itself. At 36 psi the green nozzle passes about 1.59 GPM, and about 1.74 GPM at 44 psi. On a tight 26 x 26 ft grid that applies roughly 0.22 to 0.24 in per hour. Opening the grid to 33 x 33 ft drops the rate to about 0.14 to 0.16 in per hour. A short 1/2 in riser adds almost no friction loss at this flow, so pressure at the pipe carries to the head. Water pH should stay at 6.0 or above for continuous use. Before each growing season, open the head, rinse the filter and check the cover and turbine tabs for wear. Seat the light-colored locking pin again afterward, since it holds the cover and turbine in place.
