Netafim MegaNet Yellow Sprinkler Head, 24° Trajectory
Fine seed sown shallow wants a light, even rate that settles it in without moving it. This head is Netafim item 63600-001700, model MGN24D-088HO, with the yellow nozzle cap. A 1.85 mm nozzle gives a nominal 0.88 GPM at 33 psi. The high 24° trajectory spreads that small flow over a full circle on close spacing. Two symmetric jets split the water evenly, so the head rotates in balance and wets the block uniformly. Small drops near the ground leave the seedbed intact through start-up, running and shutdown. An integral inlet filter keeps the narrow nozzle clear and lifts out for a rinse. A pop-up cover stays shut between cycles, keeping insects and dust away from the nozzle. UV-protected materials resist weather, fertilizers and crop protection products. Vegetable beds, open nurseries and germination blocks are typical homes for this head.
Fitting Heads Along the Field Edge
The yellow nozzle is laid out on grids up to about 26 x 26 ft. On a 23 x 26 ft grid it applies about 0.14 to 0.15 in per hour, and about 0.13 to 0.14 in per hour at 26 x 26 ft. Flow runs about 0.92 GPM at 36 psi and 1.01 GPM at 44 psi, within the 29 to 44 psi range. Heads on the field edge can carry the road protector, part 63620-007000, to keep water off the adjacent road. Set it on top of the head with its back toward the road and push down until it clicks. Rotate it slightly until it clicks again, and press the two ears outward to remove it. Where line pressure runs high, a 36 psi pressure regulator can sit directly under the head. Fit it hand-tight with the arrow pointing up toward the sprinkler. Small 24° nozzles like this one take the black turbine, part 63620-002000. Keep the black locking pin seated after every service.
