These are those pre-filters, and Innovative Solutions now makes them from a nano-fiber media that is thinner and passes more air. Thinner media at the same footprint lets the fan keep moving the volume the cell depends on. They trap dust, lint and mold spores before those particles can coat the cell or the blower. The pack holds 12 filters in total. A DXB 100 runs two at a time, so one box covers six full changes on a single unit. At the maker's 3 to 4 month interval, that is roughly 18 to 24 months of service for one unit. They fit the DXB 100, maker model 1x5784, and the Defender, both rated for 500 sq ft rooms. They are not the filter for the 250 sq ft DXB Mini, which takes its own smaller size. The manufacturer part number for this pack is 1x6728.

Changing ProGuard Filters on Schedule Through the Year

Swapping a pair takes a few minutes with the unit unplugged. Pull the spent filters, then seat the new ones with the red side facing out, as the manual shows. Write the change date on the housing so the next swap lands on time. Trim rooms and dry rooms load filters faster, since fine plant dust and trichome debris hang in the air. In those spaces, check the filters monthly and change them early once they turn grey. The manual warns that overdue filters can damage the unit, not just slow it down. Keep the box sealed and dry between changes so the media stays clean until it goes in. Facilities with several units can plan stock by counting pairs per quarter. Filters are only half of the yearly upkeep. The ARC-PCO cell is a separate part replaced once a year, and it is not included here.
