Quest 335 MERV 13 Replacement Filter and the Coil It Protects
Quest part 4042545-01 is a pleated panel of MERV 13 media in a 20 x 22 x 2 frame. It is the only thing between a 335's evaporator coil and whatever the room throws off. Leaf dust, perlite grit, spent media, spores. MERV 13 is the densest grade Quest builds for this chassis. That means 50 percent or better capture from 0.3 to 1 micron, the range spores travel in. From 3 to 10 microns, where visible dust sits, it rises to 90 percent. The grade runs 20 percent more effective than MERV 11 and 65 percent more than MERV 8. The payoff is a coil that stays clean and a unit that holds its rated capacity instead of fighting a loaded face. A dehumidifier working through clogged media pulls the same power for fewer pints.
Quest 335 Filter Size, Change Timing, and the Anden Panel It Resembles
This filter fits the 335 at unit part 4042500, the 335 277V at 4042600 and the 375 50-Hz at 4046200-NC. One panel per unit. The nominal size and a tape measure both read 20 x 22 x 2. It is the only filter in this line where those two agree. Match on the part number anyway, because Anden's DH35813 shares those three numbers and will not fit a 335. On timing, check the filter every six months and change it at least that often. In agriculture, change it with every grow cycle. That also keeps spores from riding a dirty panel into the next crop. That is the honest trade with MERV 13. The density that keeps spores off the coil is the same density that fills up sooner than a coarser grade would. Skipping it has a cost too. Running the unit without a filter, or with a less effective one, can clog the heat exchange coils. It also invalidates the warranty.
Key Features
- Quest part 4042545-01: The part number to match, one panel per unit
- MERV 13 pleated media: Rated at 50 percent or better from 0.3 to 1 micron and 90 percent from 3 to 10, so spores and fine dust stop at the panel
- Keeps the evaporator coil clean: A clogged coil can need disassembly to clean, which is the repair this panel exists to prevent
- Holds rated capacity: A loaded filter makes the unit draw the same power for fewer pints, so a fresh panel is the simplest way to keep output where it should be
- Fits the 335 chassis: The 335 at unit part 4042500, the 335 277V at 4042600 and the 375 50-Hz at 4046200-NC, one panel each
- 20 x 22 x 2, nominal and actual agree: The only filter in this Quest line with no gap between the nominal and actual figures; it is sometimes written 22 x 20 x 2
- Not the Anden DH35813: That panel carries the same three numbers in a different frame for a different unit, and the two do not swap
- Six-month check and change: Both at six months, and a change with every grow cycle in agriculture
