What the Quest 225 Duct Kit Includes
This two-sided kit turns a Quest 225 into a fully ducted dehumidifier, with separate hardware for the intake and the outlet. The intake side holds an intake duct adapter, a duct adapter face and six #10-24 panhead Torx screws. The exhaust side holds an exhaust duct plenum, a duct plenum face and another six of the same screws. On each side, four screws come from the kit and two are existing screws from the cabinet. The intake plenum carries the unit's filter, which slides in from the side behind a filter door. Rectangular duct fastens straight to either plenum. For round duct, a 14 in collar mounts to the face plate on each side. Quest part number 4043235 fits the Quest 225 at 208/230 V (4046100 and 4042800). It also fits the Quest 205 115 V (4046110), the Quest 155 115 V (4046120) and the Quest 200 50 Hz (4046100-NC). Quest backs the kit with a 1-year limited warranty.
Fitting a Dehumidifier Ducting Kit to a Grow Room
A dehumidifier ducting kit lets the unit sit in a plenum, closet or mechanical room while it treats the air in the flower room. Start on the intake: pull the filter, then fasten the intake plenum over the air inlet. Loosen the two right-side cabinet screws, slide them through the keyhole slots and tighten them again. Slide the filter into the plenum and close the filter door before connecting any duct. On the outlet, fit the exhaust plenum with four kit screws and the two existing left-side screws. Drill pilot holes with a 1/8 in bit only inside the safe zones shown in the Quest 225 manual. Keep each run to about 25 ft and give every dehumidifier its own duct system. Pull return air from high in the room, where warm, moist air collects, and send dry air across the canopy. Seal every joint and collar with foil tape so the unit does not draw air from the ceiling space. Leave the filter door reachable, since a loaded filter cuts airflow faster than any duct bend.
