What RAW Potassium Is and Is Not
This is a single element supplement rather than a feed. The analysis reads 0-0-50, so there is no nitrogen and no phosphorus in the container at all. What you get is 50 percent water soluble potash, and the whole point is that nothing else rides along with it. That matters when you are correcting a deficiency rather than feeding a crop. A base nutrient moves every element at once, so pushing potassium with a base feed means pushing nitrogen and phosphorus with it. This lets you move one number. It dissolves completely, so a dosing line or a drip emitter will not clog on it. The same powder goes into soil, into a reservoir or onto leaf tissue.
Dosing Potassium Sulfate Without Wrecking the Tank
The rate is small and deliberately so. A sixteenth to an eighth of a teaspoon per gallon is where it starts, applied as needed. That is a powder measured with the small end of a spoon set, not a scoop. Potassium sits at the fruiting and flowering end of the cycle, where it moves sugars, firms tissue and carries into aroma and flavour. It also buys some tolerance to drought and to salinity. Two cautions are worth stating. Potassium competes with calcium and magnesium for uptake, so pushing it hard can show up as a calcium problem a week later. And because it moves EC immediately, read your runoff rather than assuming the base feed numbers still hold.
