Ten inches suits a room, a multi-tent trunk, or a filter bank that would choke something smaller. The sound figure above is measured flat out, and most growers never run it there. Held at 60 or 70 percent on the 0-10V input it is markedly quieter and draws far less. That is the practical answer to noise in an occupied building. Give it a straight approach as well.
