The largest box in the range, for 14 in intake duct. Housing is galvanized sheet steel at 19.9 x 20 x 7.8 in and 11 lbs. The media is an ISO Coarse 45% / MERV 5 fiber mat, coarse on purpose so that a large intake keeps its airflow.

Servicing the MERV 5 Intake Filter

Toggle fasteners give tool-free access for mat changes, on a three to six month interval. At that weight, plus the duct hanging off it, support the box on its own fixings rather than letting the ductwork carry it. It is worth knowing what the box leaves alone: this is coarse filtration on the intake, so exhaust odour is still a carbon filter's job. A loaded mat costs airflow, so look at it rather than assuming. Leave clearance in front of the lid, because at this size the mat is awkward to angle out. A quick look each month tells you more than any fixed schedule.
