Ruck 4 Inch Classic HO Moves 165 CFM on 80W

HO stands for high output, and the numbers show what that costs. Against the standard 4-inch Classic it lifts airflow from 123 to 165 CFM. Draw goes from 75W to 80W, and noise from 63 to 68 dB. Same backward curved impeller, same powder-coated metal casing, same 6.68 lbs. You are buying airflow and paying in sound.

Choosing a High Output Inline Fan Over the Standard

Reach for this one when the standard 4-inch cannot hold pressure against a loaded filter and a long run. Those are the conditions HO exists for. In a quiet space it is the wrong call. That sound level from a 4-inch fan is intrusive, and the extra 42 CFM will not justify it if the standard model was already coping. Brackets are fitted to the casing and the cord is 5.5 ft. Support the fan independently of the ducting. The motor takes voltage regulation, but Ruck's manual rules out solid-state speed controls, which puts most triac dimmers made for tents off the table.

Key Features

  • 165 CFM: Centrifugal output that holds up against a loaded carbon filter.
  • 80W at 0.70A: Real draw at 120V, so the circuit load is easy to plan.
  • 68 dB Maximum: Published sound figure, so you can plan silencing honestly.
  • Backward Curved Impeller: The blade form that keeps pressure up on long duct runs.
  • Powder-Coated Metal Casing: Metal rather than plastic, and corrosion-resistant in damp air.
  • Incorporated Mounting Brackets: Fitted to the casing, so it hangs without extra hardware.
  • 5.5 ft Power Cord: Reaches a socket or controller without an extension in most tents.
  • Voltage Speed Control Only: Ruck rules out solid-state controllers, so use an autotransformer.
  • 3-Year Warranty: German-built, and covered for three years.
